Please do not be ashamed if you need to give up
your IG or if you know someone who wants to. This breed is not for
everyone and sometimes a new situation in the home makes it
stressful
for the family and the dog,(ie: human births, moving, longer
working
hours, lots of company during the holidays, etc). The dog feels
the
grunt of stress and they may exhibit their emotional pain by
sometimes having the housebreaking backfiring.
If you honestly do not have the time or patience, or need to
place
your dog, for any reason, please don't hesitate to go to the
IGCA Web site and email a rep nearest you. We will gladly
either try to help you work through the problem with solutions or
we
will take the dog into our IGCA rescue program.
We may ask for a donation if the dog is not spayed or neutered
or
needs its shots. No dog is refused.
Please just be honest with us about any problems the dog may have
such as housebreaking,and/or any health problems so we can get
proper
treatment.
I know I am one of the reps who complained about the 'stupid'
reasons people give up dogs, but I would also rather see the dog in
rescue, than both of you being stressed out and having more
problems
develop.
