Why Rescue an Italian Greyhound?

There are many reasons that "rescuing" and Italian Greyhound may be beneficial to both you and the dog.

An Italian Greyhound that has been "rescued" is a dog that may have come from an unsuitable environment-an abusive home, a puppy mill or an animal shelter. Occasionally, dogs are turned over to IGCA rescue because the owner can no longer keep the dog and the dog was acquired from a source to which it cannot be returned.

Rescued Italian Greyhounds are cared for in foster homes and are not placed in adoptive homes until they are neutered or spayed, have a complete veterinary check-up, and are observed for any behavioral or medical problems. Each dog is evaluated so that it can be placed in a home suitable to both the dog and the owners.

By rescuing and Italian Greyhound, you will give a much-needed home to a dog that, without your help, may have led a life of discomfort and fear, or even an untimely death. And if an Italian Greyhound is the right breed of dog for you and your lifestyle, it will certainly repay you for your kindness with attention and affection for years to come.
